How Long will Treatment Take? |
What About Insurance? |
It depends (sorry- it's not a cookie cutter process). The length of treatment can vary depending on individual cases. Research shows that the systems approach is highly effective, tends to be shorter term (15-20 sessions) although it can be shorter or longer depending on your needs. Clients report a high degree of satisfaction (98%) with Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT). EMDR treatment (depending on the extent of negative experiences and Trauma can be resolve many problems with as few as 5 sessions. |
Due to so many recent changes in the insurance industry, you must specifically ask your insurance provider if you have mental health benefits. If you have a PPO, ask them if Karen Barry, M.F.T, LMFT is “in network”. If not, you should ask if you have “out-of-network” coverage.
I'll work with you to assure you get the therapy you need. Couples counseling is not typically a covered benefit since relationship issues are not considered "medical" problems. If one person in the couple already has a mental health diagnosis it's possible to use your medical insurance if you have mental health benefits. |
"I began seeing Karen when I was facing extreme challenges. Karen's comforting yet analytical approach helped me change my life. She helped me find the courage inside of me that I needed to lean into my fears. I'm happier, more content and more optimistic than I can remember. I couldn't have done it without her...she is my angel."
